Built to work
for everyone.
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. If anything on it gets in your way, call, text or email me and I will get you the information another way.
What this site aims for
I want everyone to be able to use dougsellsphx.com, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, zoom the page or have low vision or color blindness. The site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium.
How the site is built
- Text descriptions.Meaningful images carry alternative text, and decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Labeled forms.Every form field has a visible label tied to it, and form errors are announced to screen readers.
- Keyboard navigation.Menus, links, buttons and forms work without a mouse, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
- Readable contrast.Text and buttons meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios. On 28 October 2026 every public page passed an automated WCAG 2.1 AA check at desktop and phone widths, and the colors that fell short were corrected.
- Resizable text.Pages reflow on phones and stay usable when you zoom to 200 percent.
- Plain language.Guides are written in short, direct sentences, with headings in order so a screen reader can move through them.
What I do not fully control
Some features come from outside providers. I chose them with accessibility in mind, but I do not control their code.
- Home search. The listing search is provided by RealScout. If it does not work for you, contact me and I will send you matching listings directly.
- Maps.Neighborhood and event maps use OpenStreetMap. Every map is paired with a written description of the boundaries or a numbered list of the places on it.
- Embedded video and forms security.Embedded videos and the reCAPTCHA check on forms come from Google. If the check blocks you, call, text or email me instead.
- Downloadable PDFs.Some guides are also offered as PDFs. The same content is on the web page, and I can send any document in another format.
