A waterfront plan among west valley farms
The association's own history credits the community's origin to Charles Keating's vision, more than 35 years ago, of a waterfront community among the farmland of the west Phoenix area. Early residents watched crop dusters work the neighboring farms.
After the Savings and Loan crisis, the project was sold before the original plan was fully built out. The community grew inside the City of Avondale, which incorporated in December 1946.
