Phoenix Raceway has been running since 1964. It hosted NASCAR's championship race from 2020 to 2025, and in 2027 it adds an IndyCar and NASCAR doubleheader to its spring weekend.

The dogleg. A kink on the frontstretch, left over from the track's original road course, makes this a one-mile oval unlike any other. It was pushed out 95 feet in 2011.
The 2018 rebuild. A $178 million renovation moved the start-finish line to the far side, after Turn 2 and before the dogleg.
The first NASCAR-sanctioned race here was a 1977 Winston West event won by Cale Yarborough. The first Cup Series race followed on November 6, 1988, won by Alan Kulwicki. From 2020 through 2025 Phoenix hosted the NASCAR Cup Series championship race. For 2026 the finale moved to Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Phoenix kept its two race weekends.
Open-wheel cars have raced here since the track opened. IndyCar's most recent run was 2016 to 2018, and it returned in 2026, sharing a weekend with NASCAR. Tony Kanaan holds the IndyCar lap record, 19.7379 seconds, set in 2016. NASCAR has owned the track since 2019.
